Thank you for your interest in enrolling at Oktaha Public Schools.

enrollment process

  • Please bring the following documents with you to enrollment. 

    • Proof of Residence: 
      • Current bill dated within 30 days: gas, water, electric, cable, or home phone, or a signed and current lease agreement or house contract.  Documents must be in the parents' or legal guardians' name. The district will NOT accept rent receipts or handwritten lease agreements as proof of residency.

      • If you are sharing a home with another individual or family the following is required: an affidavit of residence completed by both parties subscribed and sworn before a Notary Public as well as two forms of residency verification listed above.

     

    • Immunization records

    For school enrollment, a parent or guardian shall provide one of the following;

    1. Current, up to date immunization record or,
    2. A completed and signed exemption form

     

    • Birth Certificate
      • Hospital certificates WILL NOT be accepted
      • Student enrolling in Pre-K, must be 4 years old on or before September 1.

     

    • Transcripts 
      • Secondary students (9th – 12th grades)

     

    • Other Information, if applicable 
      • Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood Card
      • Special Education (IEP)
      • Court documents
  • We do our best to welcome additional students to our district whenever it is possible.


    OPS makes decisions about student transfers in accordance with district policy and state law. You can view our comprehensive district policy linked below. 

    Transfer applications for the new school year will be available on June 1st and must be submitted electronically through the State Department at the link below. Decisions regarding transfers will be made after July 1. 

    Mid-year transfer requests will be considered within 10 days of the district receiving the application. 

    Transfers are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Students who attended the district on a transfer during the school year will be reviewed annually for compliance with attendance and/or discipline issues.

  • ​​​​​​Parents/Gardians may complete the Student Information Update online through the Student Records Portal. 

    • Navigate to the “Student Records Portal” > “Enrollment/Update Submissions”
    • FOR EACH STUDENT you will complete steps 1-3
      • Step 1: Demographics – verify all information is correct, update as needed. Save and continue to step 2
      • Step 2: Relations – ensure all information is correct, update as needed. It’s important that the ‘relationship type’ is correct, and to check all appropriate boxes for each relation. This section is also where you can input emergency contacts, as well as list additional pick-up persons. Once complete, save and continue to step 3.
      • Step 3: Documents – Please complete all documents that pertain to your student
    • Submit to Site

    Remember that all information input into the SIS is legal- example: if you change your student’s last name, please provide appropriate documentation.
